What is NeuroAcoustix

NeuroAcoustix is a low cost, portable brain aneurysm detection device that aids in early detection of brain aneurysms in patients by measuring the acoustic response of blood flow to the brain. This enables early intervention and prevention of aneurysm rupture that can save lives.

At NeuroAcoustix, we believe early risk awareness should be accessible, non‑invasive, and available before a health crisis occurs.

Our Impact

Pioneering advanced neurotechnology, NeuroAcoustix is dedicated to transforming brain aneurysm detection. With a mission to save lives and prevent tragedies, we strive to make early detection accessible to all. Our innovative, cost effective solutions offer hope to millions, providing timely interventions and peace of mind to families worldwide.

Before

  • Detection after symptoms or rupture

  • Expensive CT/MRI imaging

  • No routine monitoring

  • High mortality and disability

  • Limited access, widening inequity

With NeuroAcoustix

  • Early risk identification before catastrophe

  • ~$200, low-cost, non‑invasive screening

  • Repeatable, preventive monitoring

  • Fewer deaths, preventable harm

  • Broader access, greater health equity

Innovation

How It Works

Our technology uses advanced acoustics and monitoring systems to assess brain health non-invasively, providing reliable data on aneurysm risks. This pioneering method promises to reposition how brain health is understood and managed.

With a strong emphasis on validation, our solutions are supported by extensive research, ensuring our users receive accurate and actionable aneurysm risk assessment. At NeuroAcoustix, our goal is to ensure that brain aneurysm detection is available to every human being.

Our Team

We are a team of two passionate high schoolers who are determined to make an impact in society. Our commitment to the greater good led us to creating NeuroAcoustix.

Shivika is a high school student driven by curiosity about the brain and a desire to turn science into impact. Her interest in brain aneurysm research is personal, shaped by her grandmother’s survival and her family’s experience with uncertainty and recovery. She is passionate about medicine, mental health advocacy, and serving underserved communities through research and volunteering. By studying brain aneurysms, she aims to advance early detection, reduce neurological damage, and help save lives.

Aashika is a high school sophomore interested in pursuing a future in healthcare. She became involved in this research to deepen her understanding of science and the human body while contributing to real-world solutions. Studying the biological mechanisms behind brain aneurysms matters to her because improving early detection can help prevent ruptures, reduce long-term neurological damage, and ultimately save lives.

Our Story

Our motivation for NeuroAcoustix is deeply personal - Shivika had lost her grandmother to the rupture of an undetected brain aneurysm, which led her to the realization that there is a need for a device for early detection. We have been working in a wet lab for some time, where we built trust as a team while experimenting and working through our failures in the lab. Shivika shared her proposal of using sound to flag for brain aneurysm risk with Aashika, who, driven by her interest in biomedical research, decided to team up. Shivika leads the research and technical work, using her prior extensive experience studying brain aneurysm biomarkers and building an AI model to detect aneurysm from CT scans. Together, we work towards making the product design simple yet impactful, accessible and scalable. We are united by one common goal - help families avoid sudden, preventable loss through early detection.
